Banned Books Week

Posted: October 2, 2011 in events, volunteers

Banned books week (Sept. 24 – Oct. 1st) is a week designated by the ALA (American Library Association) to recognize the importance of the freedom to read.

Some of our library volunteers for putting together a display of some books from our own library that have been challenged in school or public libraries. THANK YOU for your help.

Did you get a chance to see the display? Were you surprised at some of the books that people have asked to have removed?

Welcome back!

Weclome back to school!

We would love to hear about the good books you read this summer.

Did you see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2? How did it compare to the book? Were you pleased, disappointed, or just sad that it’s all over?

Are you already counting down to the movie release of the Hunger Games next March? Still lots of time to read the series before you see the movie!

Wishing all of our students and staff a great 2011-2012 school year.

The NRHS Library introduced EasyBib to classes this year. This online citation generator is a great resource for students to use to keep track of their sources while researching papers as well as creating Works Cited pages.

EasyBib now has an app!

This FREE app is available for download from the iTunes store for iPod Touch, iPhone and iPad.
